Nike Sportswear Holiday 2008 | Dunk Collection
Nike pushes innovation forward, implementing technical treatments first laid out by ACG (All Conditions Gear) to keep the foot warm and dry during the coming months. Supreme models of the Nike Dunk are remixed with materials that protect the foot from the winter elements. Part of the Nike Sportswear collection, these sneakers include felt detailing and merino wool lining for warmth, fiber fill insulation in the collar linings to keep body heat in, and sealed and taped seams to make the shoes impermeable to water. The uppers are constructed from water resistant leathers that have been laser-etched to emulate perforations, giving them the same look as traditional Nike Dunk shoes, without allowing even the tiniest holes that might be susceptible to moisture penetration.
An essential innovation implemented in the creation of this winter-ready footwear is provided by Scholler 3XDRY, a technology that creates water-repellant textiles that also efficiently absorb and wick moisture from the inside of the shoe, moving it outward.
The collection of this season has no playful colors, but classic looks with great technology, which is probably the best combination one can ask for.
