Here we take a closer look at the Overkill Shop, located in Berlin Kreuzberg. The shop has been totally redesigned and was reopened in Oct. 2008. All the windows of the ground floor have been replaced trough mirrors with scratchings, made by artists. The first floor is kind of a retro-styled apartment, as you can see in the picture shown above. All things considered this shop may be one of the best-styled stores in Germany and might be on the same level like shops in N.Y or Tokio.

In some circles, a pair of just-released or limited edition Nike or Adidas sneakers can have more social cachet than—and cost just as much as—the right pair of Manolo Blahniks. So if your style is more Neptunes than Nikki Hilton, check out Lower East Side sneaker store Alife Rivington Club, which bears no resemblance to Foot Locker. With no exterior signage and a barely-marked buzzer to let customers in the locked door, the shop has the feel of a James Bond-style gentleman’s club: Purple carpeting covers the floor, a low, green leather couch runs against an ostrich-skin wall, and, opposite the couch, numerous individually lit, built-in cubbyholes display the shop’s undeniably cool sneakers. Above the cubbies, more sneakers sit behind locked glass. Featuring the absolute latest and highest-end styles from all the major brands, the sneaker stock rotates often, with new arrivals coming in about once a week. Hot items sell out quickly, however, and in order to make room for the Next Big Thing, Alife doesn’t restock. So if you want a certain pair, act fast.

Here’s a little sampler of the new Converse Skate Range… Tasteful and restrained, the CTS is looking dope-a-rope in premium black leather with gold eyelets. As you would expect, the range is a mix of retro faves that have been ‘skate-ified’, mainly by adding some sort of memory foam to the collar and tongue to keep your feet safe and sound as a pound.

A couple of years ago Amsterdam based store Patta put Asics back onto the sneaker map with their collaboration. Today we present you their upcoming collaboration project with Asics and three of the most respected artists in this culture – Eric Elms, Delta and Parra.
They worked on the Gel Lytespeed with Asics in three colorways on the exterior. The influence and work of the respective artists only becomes apparent when looking at the interior of the sneakers. The Delta sneaker comes in black, the Elms sneaker in purple and the Parra sneaker in red.
They once again managed to create a fantastic line-up of sneakers. Nothing too heady on the exterior, but strong color combinations with all the details on the interior. The white mid sole gives the sneakers a clean finish. You can be sure that these will be gone fast.
Additional goodies coming along with the pack, as well as other retailers that will be getting it, will be announced soon. The pack will be released at Patta on January 31rst.

What’s new about this zippy Z4 roadster is the hard top (not shown), featuring a two-piece roof that whips into place within 20 seconds at the touch of a button.
The BMW Z4 sDrive35i delivers 300 horsepower from an inline-6 engine with direct fuel injection in six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic. The 255 horsepower, normally aspirated engine in the BMW Z4 sDrive30i model should deliver plenty of refinement as well. BMW offers rear-wheel drive on both models which they call “sDrive.”
Some additional inches added to the length and height of this model, as well as the hardtop, gives the Z4 a roomier and more luxurious appearance than its predecessor.

Detroit (ots) – The new star in the luxury segment made its first appearance on the eve of the 2009 NAIAS – as part of the Mercedes-Benz New Year’s Reception in Detroit, Daimler CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche presented the latest version of the successful luxury sedan in front of over 650 trade journalists from around the world. With the new E-Class, Mercedes-Benz is setting the new benchmark, particularly in terms of safety and comfort, as well as environmental sustainability and economy. Under the heading “fascination and responsibility”, the Stuttgart automobile manufacturer presented a further two new models – the SLR Stirling Moss crowns the successful SLR super sports car range with an uncompromising high performance model. And with the BlueZERO concept, Mercedes-Benz is leading the way in environmentally sustainable electric mobility. The intelligent, modular concept facilitates no less than three models with different powertrain configurations on the basis of one single vehicle architecture.
“The new E-Class is the safest, most comfortable and cleanest E- Class ever. It is yet further evidence that fascination and responsibility go hand-in-hand at Mercedes”, commented Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars at the exclusive preview presentation. “We are certain that the new E-Class will send a positive signal for the 2009 automotive year, and will be among the winners in the global market.”
