Puma Basket x Alex Albrandt | “A Fresh Combination”

Swedish graffiti artist Alex Albrandt has customized a pair of Puma Baskets. Here is what Albrandt had to say about his approach to creating the sneakers:
“I always like a good sneaker to be clean, not too much and not to little from a design aspect! I wanted to play to my strength… so I mixed the abstract sense to it, with a strong mix of dirtiness! I gave the tongues a heavy facelift, as the Puma Basket always looks good “Jailhouse Style” (No laces) …and shabang “A Fresh Combination”.
You can read the whole interview with him at soleheaven. And after the jump you´ll find some more pics.

Ok, Nike had a lot of – let me call them interessting – colorways and designs recently. But with this Hyperize they´re going back to the roots with a simple and clean but beautiful black on black colorway. Only two hits of Metallic Silver are hitting the willing eye. You can find more pics of this black beauty after the jump.

What we´ve got here is something you should decide for yourself if it´s too much or not …
This Nike AM1 is a tribute to Taiwanese Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang. It’s got every amendment one could possibly make – gold eyelets, patent leather alongside a more matt number, lasering on the tongue and even a Night Track style glitter addition to the outsole. Then there’s the small matter of a baseball style stitch right across that iconic panelling. Check out more pics after the jump and deliver your own judgement.

Back on his first (and only) official mixtape Kid Cudi rapped, “They say I’m Complex like the magazine, I want my closet complex like the magazine.” A bit of foreshadowing? Perhaps, because the G.O.O.D. Music MC is now a Complex cover star, appearing on our August/September 2009 issue, the annual Style & Design special, which officially hits stands on August 11.
The self-proclaimed lonely stoner is currently on The Great Hangover Tour with Asher Roth, and has fans eagerly awaiting his debut album The Man On The Moon: End Of Day, which is now set for September 15. His melody-heavy raps bring an innovative sound to the game, which is why we paired him up with graf artist AUGOR for some illustrations that show Cudi battling his demons. We just put the whole story up online, and you’ll see that Cudi really invited us inside the mind of Scott Mescudi. You think you know, but you have no idea…

Ladies, this one is for you! Hooked on a heavy dose of patent, the Puma First Round Sparkle has OD’d its way into the hearts of Freakettes worldwide. Taking jazzy and snazzy to new heights, this high top sidesteps subtlety, mixing metallics with pearly pops and wrapping it all up with gucci-link printed laces and gold nugget lacelocks. Nike comes around with a really nice pair of customs. Created by the design team Royalefam, this incredibly detailed pair uses a prison theme. The upper consists entirely of denim material, a zipper cover, and many details. Notice that the tongue has been made to resemble a prisoner’s serial numbers. This pair will become available to the public on Royalefam’s web site August 9th. See some detailed pics after the jump.
