Nike Dunk High Premium “Day of the Dead”
We just posted the Nike Air Max 90 “Day of the Dead” and the Nike Dunk High “Day of the Dead” which are parts of a pack that is celebrating the Mexican holiday. The kicks are constructed in black leather with a mix of fine details from the orange contrast stitching to the purple print, which features symbols synonymous with Day of the Dead. To celebrate the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos, Nike Sportswear has just released a pack of three sneakers. Included in the pack are pairs of the Nike Air Max 90, Nike Dunk High and this Nike Dunk Low. The kicks come in a white upper in a purple print with “Day of the Dead” symbols, from skeletons to flowers. The upper also features red contrast stitching, a green Swoosh, and purple on the outsole and inner lining. You can find the sneakers at SNS along with the other sneakers from the pack. Nike has once again drawn inspiration from the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos or in English Day of the Dead. The holiday is a given date for respect and tribute to friends and family who have passed away. The Nike Day of the Dead pack includes a Nike Dunk High, Low and this Air Max 90. The Air Max 90 comes in a black leather upper with orange green and purple accents from the outsole to the inner lining. The side panel and in-sole are decorated in artwork synonymous with Dia de los Muertos. The kicks take their design inspiration from the Nike Air Force 1 “HTM”, and features an upper composed of black croc embossed leather. Giving the sneaker an extra rugged look, the kicks feature hiking book like metal eyelets. The kicks are now available at sneaker shops with Nike Tier Zero accounts including Stockholm based SNS. An actualization from Amsterdam-base artsit Parra’s imaginative sporting world, where the most essential goal is not to win, but to participate. The Lonely Losers Air Maxim 1 from the artist and Nike Sportswear is an extension of a collaborative effort, which include Stadium Jacket, Destroyer Jacket, scores of t-shirts, for both men and women. The simple matte black fare of suede with minute colored stitched and eyelets. Speckles of red and light blue dotted all-over on the mid-sole, while enlarged segment of the Lonely Losers design dominated the inner sockliners. Follow the jump for more info’s and some other pics.

The accomplished illustrator will be featured between October 12th-26th showcasing his signature style which has garnered endless acclaim throughout Europe as well as the US. For 15 days you can track James’ progress through a web cam style creative process. The feature can be seen here, beginning October 12th, 2009 although compatibility with US visitors is uncertain.

It is certainly an extraordinary time. Just moments ago in a live online broadcast, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the President of United States, Barack Obama, as the winner of the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize for 2009. The foundation honored the President for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”. It also stated that “Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.”
