Nike Air Rift / Original Colorway Release
Runners from Kenya are known taking their strides bare foot, which scientists say is a lot more healthy for the body. In 1995, Nike took inspiration from bare foot runners in creating the Air Rift, which attempts to mimic a shoeless feel. Fifteen years later, the sneaker is now back in its original colorway of concord, varsity maize and red in a synthetic material build resting on an Air sole.
A second original colorway of the Nike Air Rift has also been released, this one in a colorway inspired by the Kenyan national colors in black and green with red accents. The Kenyan colors are a reference to the fact that sneakers design is inspired by the barefoot style of running popular with runners from the nation. The kicks build is made of neoprene and features a split toe foot.
The third colorway comes in white and black with orange accents in a traditional neoprene build. Have a look on detailed pics and the additional colorways after the jump.
