G-Shock October 2009 Releases
Casio Japan reveals their G-Shock lineup for October 2009. Highlights include a black and rose gold Frogman, glossy “Crazy Color” AW-582s, the solar-powered, screw-faced GW-7900 in two new makeups (black/black pictured above left) and the G-LIDE 5600 in two solid new colors (red/black pictured above right). Each watch comes loaded with G-Shock’s trademark harsh environment protection features including waterproofing, impact resistance and cold-weather readiness. CASIO G-SHOCK invited ten international artists to create their very own masterpieces about the issue “RESISTING TIME”. The two important characteristics of the famous G-SHOCK watches, „TIMEKEEPING“ and „SHOCK RESISTANCE“, should be combined in the drawings. There are originated ten extraordinary interpretations which are now shown at the “Resisting Time Exhibition” on its tour through germany. Don’t miss it!

In the world of custom G-Shocks, Pharrell and the crew has pretty much outdone and outshone anybody with his outlandish customs. Add another one to the collection with this new gold joint. Based on a Bape collaboration DW-6900, the watch is encrusted in gold while the G-Shock logo on the top of the face is left in rainbow colors. Of course an exclusive 1 of 1 piece.

Here we got a preview for the famous Casio Data Bank. A classic designed Casio watch with a calculator function included. The only difference is that the new models will come in nice and strong colors. They’ll be available at Vagant 1th of April.

This month will see the release of 2 new designer editions from Casio G-Shock timepiece collection. One created by the venerable East Village retailer, Dave’s Quality Meat (DQM), which was one of the few U.S. retailers selected to offer the special G-Shock 25th Anniversary Edition with director Spike Lee. The other is a second round collaboration by another G-Shock supporter; apparel label Lifted Research Group (LRG). Both limited editions are based on the DW-6900 model, a favorite among collaborators who appreciate its multi-function capabilities.
The DQM Edition (DW-6900DQM-7JR) will feature a bi-color casing of beige watch face and black brace. With an DQM engraved back plate, special packaging, and a DQM hologram EL (Electroluminescent) back light. The LRG Edition (DW-6900LRG-2AJR) will have a uniform aquamarine colorway imprinted with skateboarding giraffes from its Spring 2009 design theme “Feed The Animals”. Back plate is engraved with LRG ‘s logo while a holographic EL (Electroluminescent) back light will also feature a LRG “tree logo”. Information on availility to come soon.

A traditional compliment to the Casio G-Shock line, the Databank served up a wealth of different functions including calculator and information storage. Enjoying a contemporary update, the watch is seen here in some more modern colorways with other details including a checkboard style keypad. Available in four colorways and releasing this week at stores including Leaders 1354 and Shoe Gallery. With a new solid North American distribution in place, look for a new series of exciting projects on the way.

In a secret project, Futura Laboratories along with Medicom Toy and Casio put together a special collaboration which features both a classic DW-6900 watch and Medicom Toy Bearbrick. Despite the multiple colors seen on the watch, the balance of color is kept in check with the all-black body and black LCD display. The Bearbrick follows a similar pattern as each body part is done up in a different color. Set for a mid-December release. Pre-orders are currently being accepted at the FL Shop as of tomorrow.
