808s & Heartbreak Chuck Taylors

Emmanuelabor created the 808s & Heartbreak Chuck Taylors awhile ago but just got around to posting these kicks to the Nike Talk thread linked here. While Emmanuelabor is known for his hot Nike customs, he decided to go with a different sneaker to honor Kanye West’s album. The 808s & Heartbreak Chuck Taylors mix simple design with a novel approach to inserting the single red heart on the album cover.

The designer’s primary pattern for these Chucks came from the suit worn by Kanye West when supporting the album. You can see in the photo at the bottom of this post that the suit has a simple gray pattern with a broken heart on the lapel. Emmanuelabor did a great job stitching and forming this pattern to the Chuck Taylors.

Emmanuelabor did not use fabric or paint to create the red heart on the inside of both shoes. The designer cut and stitched red balloons into a heart-shaped space in the fabric to create the right texture. Emmanuelabor’s experiment with a new technique on a classic shoe was successful, resulting in a pair of Chuck Taylors that properly celebrate Kanye West’s work.

Converse 100th Anniversary Shoes in a Box

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the canvas all star basketball shoes, Converse has produced a limited edition of 1000 books containing a pair of shoes. Using the theme of ‘star’, the book details the history of the canvas all star brand and features interviews by 100 of today’s biggest stars. Also, in an effort to support the young creative people of the world, Converse has chosen 100 people and put them together with the famous actors, comedians, stylists, photographers, art directors etc who inspire them to pursue the same career. The shoes have been made especially for this project and come in white, black and red, and in two sizes, 24cm and 27cm.

Converse Japan 100th Anniversary November Releases

Converse Japan looked through the extensive Converse archives to reproduce some of their many classics to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Converse. For the upcoming November releases we see the usual assortment of Chuck Taylors laced with small drops including Jack Purcells, Pro Leather Hi and One Stars. Seen within this release is the inclusion of suede uppers on both the Pro Leather Hi and Chuck Taylors. These will release November at Converse Japan retailers.
